Bank of America’s public checking bonus is still paying real money for new customers. Open an eligible Advantage checking account through the up-to-$500 tiered offer page by Jan. 31, 2027, then bring in Qualifying Direct Deposits within 90 days of opening. The bonus scales with what hits the account in that window: $100 for $2,000–$4,999, $300 for $5,000–$9,999, and $500 for $10,000 or more. Qualifying deposits are regular income like paycheck, pension, or Social Security, not wires, ATM deposits, or transfers from your other accounts. You can’t have owned a BofA personal checking account in the past 12 months, and the offer is one bonus per customer. BofA says it will try to pay within 60 days after the deposit period, and the bonus may be taxable. The offer can end early, so open through that page if you’re switching banks anyway.
