Short version: Points Quest may earn money when you click some links on this site and apply for or buy something. That never changes how I rate a product. I don’t cover every offer on the market.
How Points Quest makes money
Points Quest is free to read. To keep it that way, the site may earn money in these ways:
- Affiliate links. Some links to products (for example, travel bookings, travel gear, or financial products) are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, open an account, or are approved for a product, Points Quest may receive a commission from the company or an affiliate network.
- Personal referral links. Some card issuers and banks run referral programs. Where the program’s terms allow it, I may share my own referral link, and I may earn points, miles, or cash if you’re approved. I’ll label these as referral links.
- Advertising. The site and newsletter may show display ads or a clearly labeled sponsor slot in the future.
What this means for you
- Partners may affect which products appear and where. Compensation may influence which products are featured on the site and how prominently. It does not change my ratings, and it does not buy positive coverage.
- I don’t cover every offer. Points Quest does not review every card, bank account, or travel product available. Offers you see here are a selection, not the full market.
- Disclosures appear near the links. Pages with affiliate or referral links carry a disclosure at the top, before the first link, such as: “Points Quest may earn a commission when you use links on this page. This doesn’t change our ratings.” The same will apply to emails and social posts when those channels are active.
- I don’t get paid more for saying nice things. My ratings and opinions are my own. If a product has problems, I’ll say so.
Offer accuracy
Card and bank offers change often, sometimes without notice.
- I verify offer details on the issuer’s or program’s own website and note the date I checked.
- Every offer includes a link to the issuer’s terms. Terms apply.
- Where an affiliate program requires approved offer language, I use it.
- When an offer expires, I mark it Expired and point to the current offer, if there is one.
Always confirm the current terms on the issuer’s page before you apply. If the issuer’s page and Points Quest disagree, the issuer’s page wins.
Editorial independence
Points Quest isn’t owned by, and doesn’t work for, any card issuer, bank, airline, or hotel program. Card issuers and partners do not review or approve content before it’s published, unless a post clearly says otherwise. Where a partner requires specific offer wording, that wording will be used as required.
See the Editorial Policy for how I rate products and verify offers.
Real experiences only
I write under a pen name, but my stories and numbers are real. I don’t publish invented testimonials, made-up trip results, or fake reader stories. Reader wins are shared only with written permission.
Not financial advice
Points Quest is educational. Nothing here is a personalized recommendation about which financial product you should choose.
