Here’s a bank bonus that anyone in the U.S. can get, and it doesn’t need a payroll direct deposit. Connexus Credit Union is paying up to $300 when you open a new Xtraordinary Checking account with promo code XTRABONUS between Oct. 26 and Dec. 20, 2026. For two months within 120 days of opening, you need to make 15 debit card purchases (or spend $500 on the debit card), stay signed up for eStatements, and make one deposit of at least $500 by direct deposit or ACH from an account outside Connexus. The bonus is tiered by your average daily balance over those two qualifying months: $100 for $5,000 to $9,999.99, $200 for $10,000 to $14,999.99, and $300 for $15,000 or more. Under $5,000 gets nothing. It’s open to people who don’t currently have a Connexus checking account, and if you’ve had one before, it has to have been closed before Sept. 1, 2025. Connexus’s membership page says anyone in the U.S. can join with a one-time $5 donation to the Connexus Association. While you meet the same monthly requirements, the account also pays 4.50% APY on balances up to $25,000 (as of Oct. 28, 2026), there are no monthly fees, and Connexus says the bonus posts within 10 business days after you qualify. To play it, apply with XTRABONUS, park $15,000 if you can spare it for a couple of months, set a $500 monthly ACH push from your main bank, and run small purchases through the debit card.
