Finnair Is Selling Avios at Up to 50% Off Through Nov. 16, and You Can Move Them to British Airways

If you need to top up Avios for a specific award, Finnair Plus is running a buy-Avios sale from Nov. 2 to Nov. 16, 2026, and the discount grows with the size of the purchase. You get 30% off on 5,000-19,000 Avios, 35% off on 20,000-49,000, 40% off on 50,000-84,000 and 50% off on 85,000-200,000. Every purchase also gets a fixed 10% bonus on tier points. Finnair has reset the annual buy limit for this sale, so you can buy up to 200,000 Avios even if you already hit the cap earlier this year. There are a few catches. You must have joined Finnair Plus before Oct. 30, 2026 and have at least 50 Avios in your account, so a brand-new account won’t qualify. Gift purchases are excluded. Prices only show once you’re logged in, and they vary by the currency you pay in, so compare the final price per point with what you’d pay elsewhere. The sale ends at 23:59:59 Finland time (UTC+2) on Nov. 16, which is 4:59 p.m. ET that Monday. The useful part is that Finnair lets you move Avios for free, almost instantly, at 1:1 to and from British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, Loganair and Qatar Airways programs. You’ll need two-factor authentication and the same name and email on both accounts. To do it, find the award seat first, then log in to Finnair Plus, buy only what you need, and transfer from the Balance and transactions page. The Avios post 1 to 3 days after you buy.
