Holiday Shopping Bonus: Southwest, United and Alaska Portals Are Adding Up to 5,000 Extra Points

If you’re going to buy holiday gifts online anyway, three airline shopping portals will pay a one-time bonus on top of their usual per-dollar points once your total qualifying spend hits set levels. Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping pays 500 bonus points at $100-$399.99, 2,000 at $400-$799.99 and 5,000 at $800 or more, through Nov. 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. United MileagePlus Shopping pays 500 miles at $125, 2,000 at $500 and 5,000 at $1,100 or more, through Nov. 20 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. Alaska’s Atmos Rewards Shopping pays 300 points at $100, 750 at $350 and 1,500 at $650 or more, also through Nov. 20. Each bonus is based on your total qualifying spend during the promo, and you only get your highest tier, once. Returns, cancellations, shipping, taxes, gift cards and other cash equivalents don’t count, and some products aren’t eligible. Check each store’s exclusions before you check out. The Atmos bonus doesn’t count toward status, and all three say bonuses can take up to 10 weeks after the promo ends to post. To use it, sign in to the portal and click through to the store before every purchase. Pay with a rewards card so you earn card points as well. Pick one portal so your spend reaches a higher tier, and it’s worth checking whether a cash-back site is paying more at that store.
