Best for

every Bilt member and Bilt Cardholder planning loot for 2027

On October 27, 2026, Bilt dropped a full slate of 2027 program updates. Some loot rules change immediately. The bigger card-benefit refresh starts January 1, 2027 (or on your first card account anniversary for existing cardholders). Daily Rewards land January 15, 2027.

This is a quest briefing, not a rumor board. Every number and deadline below was checked the same day against Bilt’s official 2027 program updates newsroom post and the Bilt Card 2.0 Program Overview support page (updated October 27, 2026). If a detail was not on those pages, we left it out.

New to the program? Pair this with our Bilt Rewards guide and Bilt Cash explained.

Quest map: what changes when

WhenWhat changes
Effective immediately (10/27/26)Bilt Cash expiration becomes a rolling 12-month window from the earn date (month-end); applies to balances you already hold. Annual Bilt Cash credits move to card account anniversary instead of January 1.
Starting 1/1/27Refreshed Bilt Card benefits for new acceptances; existing cardholders keep current benefits until their first 2027 card account anniversary (unless they opt out). Bilt Cash hotel redemptions move from monthly to twice per year with status-based caps.
On your first card anniversary in 2027Existing cardholders auto-move to refreshed benefits unless they opted out in the app beforehand.
Starting 1/15/27Daily Rewards: home + neighborhood rewards combine; on-time rent/mortgage and one daily neighborhood activity each unlock a Daily Reward.

Level 1 loot: Bilt Cash expiration (live now)

This is the change that hits your Wallet tab today.

  • Bilt Cash now expires at the end of the month, 12 months after you earn it.
  • There is no more year-end expiration and no rollover limit.
  • The new clock applies retroactively to Bilt Cash you already earned.
  • When you redeem, Bilt uses the oldest (soonest-to-expire) Bilt Cash first.

Bilt’s own examples:

  • $100 earned in February 2026 expires February 28, 2027.
  • Bilt Cash earned October 10, 2026 expires October 31, 2027.

You still earn $50 of Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points toward elite status. That milestone loot did not go away.

Tip

Open the Wallet tab and sort your mental inventory by earn month. Anything from late 2025 or early 2026 is now on a rolling clock, not a December cliff. Plan hotel, Lyft, dining, and other redemptions against each award’s own month-end deadline.

Annual Bilt Cash credits: anniversary drop, not New Year’s Day

Annual Bilt Cash credits are now awarded on your card account anniversary instead of January 1. That timing change is live with the October 27 update and matters especially for Palladium holders who used to see a January 1 drop.

Your card account anniversary is the first day of the billing cycle that follows your account open date anniversary. Example from Bilt: if you opened on February 7, 2026, your anniversary is the first day of the billing cycle that follows February 7, 2027. Not sure of yours? Ask concierge in the Bilt app.

Level 2 loot: refreshed Bilt Card benefits (from 1/1/27)

Bilt is simplifying how the Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium cards reward housing.

One housing earn path: up to 1.25X

Under refreshed benefits there is one way to earn on rent or mortgage through Bilt: up to 1.25X points, based on how much you spend on the Bilt Card outside housing in the same billing cycle. These are the same Housing-only brackets that exist today:

Everyday spend vs housing payment (same billing cycle)Points on housing
At least 25% of the housing payment0.5X
At least 50%0.75X
At least 75%1X
Same or more than the housing payment (100%+)1.25X
Below the minimum thresholdStill 250 points on the housing payment through Bilt

Everyday points multipliers on the card are not changing. Dining/grocery categories, 2X Palladium everyday earn, and the rest of the card earn tables stay as they are today.

Flexible Bilt Cash mode is retiring (for the refreshed path)

The Flexible Bilt Cash option ( 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend ) is being retired for the refreshed benefits. That is the big fork in the quest.

  • Accept a Bilt Card offer on or after 1/1/27: you get refreshed benefits immediately (no Flexible Bilt Cash).
  • Existing cardholders (account open before 1/1/27): keep current benefits until your first card account anniversary, then auto-move to refreshed benefits unless you opt out.
  • Accept an offer through December 31, 2026: you can still get the current structure and opt out before your anniversary if you want to keep Flexible Bilt Cash.

Product upgrades are already live in the Bilt app under card settings (eligibility varies).

Opting out: keep Flexible Bilt Cash before your anniversary

If Flexible Bilt Cash is your main loot engine, this is the deadline that matters.

How: In the Bilt app, open card settings and opt out of the refreshed benefits before your first card account anniversary.

If you opt out, you keep:

  • 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend (Flexible Bilt Cash mode)
  • Applicable hotel credits (Obsidian and Palladium)
  • Palladium’s $200 annual Bilt Cash credit (issued on card account anniversary each subsequent year)
  • Your current Bilt Cash redemption options

If you opt out, you do not get:

  • The ability to switch between Flexible Bilt Cash and Housing-only after your anniversary
  • The new annual Bilt Cash amounts that replace hotel credits ($100 Obsidian / $600 Palladium)
  • Palladium’s exclusive $200 twice-per-year Bilt Cash hotel redemption on the refreshed structure

Changing your mind later: You can move to the new benefits anytime in the app. If you switch after your first card anniversary, refreshed benefits start on the first day of your next billing cycle. When you move later, Bilt converts unredeemed hotel credit for the year into Bilt Cash (up to $400 Palladium / $100 Obsidian), with examples on the support page.

Upgrade or downgrade warning: Changing your card product moves you to refreshed benefits even if you opted out. Bilt says it shows a confirmation screen before you lock it in.

Authorized users follow the primary cardholder’s choice. They cannot opt out separately.

Watch Out

Opting out is how you preserve Flexible Bilt Cash. It is not a permanent lockout from the new path. You can still move to refreshed benefits later. What you give up after anniversary is the ability to flip back and forth between Flexible Bilt Cash and Housing-only.

Obsidian and Palladium annual credits under refreshed benefits

CardToday’s annual credit shapeRefreshed annual credit
Obsidian$100 Bilt Travel Hotel credit ($50 twice/year)$100 annual Bilt Cash on anniversary
Palladium$200 annual Bilt Cash + $400 hotel credit ($200 twice/year)$600 annual Bilt Cash on anniversary

Credits drop on the card account anniversary.

Bridge into 2027 before your anniversary:

  • On 1/1/27, Palladium still gets the $200 hotel credit portion for that drop; Obsidian still gets the $50 hotel credit portion.
  • When you move to refreshed benefits on anniversary, unredeemed hotel credit expires and the new annual Bilt Cash credit issues instead.
  • If you opt out before anniversary, you keep hotel credits as they work today (twice a year on eligible bookings).

With refreshed benefits, Obsidian and Palladium can still redeem Bilt Cash for Point Accelerator.

Bilt Cash hotel redemptions: twice a year from 1/1/27

Starting January 1, 2027, Bilt Cash hotel redemptions change from monthly to twice per year. Caps per redemption (and per year):

WhoCap each timeCap per year
Blue / Silver statusup to $50$100
Gold / Platinum statusup to $100$200
Eligible Palladium cardholdersup to $200$400

Palladium exclusive on refreshed benefits: redeem up to $200 Bilt Cash for eligible hotel bookings twice per year in the Bilt Travel Portal.

Daily Rewards: new neighborhood quest from 1/15/27

Beginning January 15, 2027, home rewards and neighborhood rewards combine into Daily Rewards.

  • Every on-time monthly rent or mortgage payment earns a Daily Reward.
  • So does one daily activity with a qualifying neighborhood partner (a meal, a class, or a ride).
  • Each Daily Reward reveals two rewards; you choose one to claim.
  • Instant prizes can include Bilt Points and Bilt Cash.
  • Collectibles build toward grand prizes, including:
    • ,000,000 toward the purchase of a home
    • 10,000,000 Bilt Points
    • Free rent or mortgage for a year
    • Free Lyft rides for a year
    • A dream getaway

All prizes are subject to terms, which Bilt says will be provided before 1/15/27. More prizes and rules come in the new year. Track the rollout at bilt.com/daily-rewards.

Who this is for:

  • Non-card housing payers (bank account, debit card, or non-Bilt credit card): Daily Rewards are how you are rewarded for paying rent or mortgage going forward.
  • Bilt cardholders: point earnings on rent and mortgage do not change; Daily Rewards are added on top.

Other 2027 status loot from the newsroom

  • Gold and Platinum: redeem Bilt Points at checkout for Home Away from Home hotel bookings in 2027, including access to eligible luxury hotel benefits.
  • Elite status rental car matches in 2027:
    • Platinum can unlock SIXT ONE Platinum and Hertz President’s Circle.
    • Gold and Silver can unlock SIXT ONE Gold and Hertz Five Star.
  • Product upgrades are live now in the Bilt app (card settings).

Checklist: what to do before 1/1/27 and before your anniversary

0/0

  • Check your Bilt Cash balance and roughly when each chunk was earned (rolling 12-month month-end clock is live).
  • Ask concierge for your card account anniversary if you are not sure.
  • Decide whether 4% Flexible Bilt Cash or up to 1.25X housing points + simplified annual Bilt Cash is better loot for your spend.
  • If you want Flexible Bilt Cash long-term, opt out in card settings before your first 2027 anniversary.
  • If you do not have a card yet and want the current Flexible structure available to opt into keeping, accept an offer by December 31, 2026 (then still opt out before your anniversary).
  • Obsidian/Palladium: plan the 1/1/27 hotel credit portion before anniversary; unused hotel credit expires when you move to refreshed benefits.
  • Do not product-upgrade or downgrade casually if you opted out; a product change forces refreshed benefits.
  • Bookmark bilt.com/daily-rewards for the 1/15/27 rules drop.
  • Gold/Platinum: watch for Home Away from Home checkout redemptions and 2027 rental-car status matches.

Why it matters (loot preserved vs loot lost)

Preserved if you act: Flexible Bilt Cash (4% on everyday), current hotel credits, and Palladium’s $200 anniversary Bilt Cash stay available if existing cardholders opt out before anniversary. Cardholders keep housing point earnings when Daily Rewards arrive. Milestone Bilt Cash ($50 per 25,000 status points) continues. Obsidian/Palladium keep Point Accelerator redemptions on the refreshed path.

Changed either way: Bilt Cash no longer dies on a shared December cliff; each award has its own 12-month month-end timer. Hotel Bilt Cash redemptions thin out from monthly to twice yearly in 2027. Non-card housing payers move to Daily Rewards as their reward path.

Lost if you sleep on it: Existing cardholders who do nothing auto-move to refreshed benefits on anniversary (Flexible Bilt Cash goes away on that path). Unredeemed hotel credit can expire at the handoff. Waiting until after 1/1/27 to accept a new card means you never see Flexible Bilt Cash on that account.

Bottom Line

Treat October 27 as a map drop, not a panic. Fix your Bilt Cash spend plan now, lock your anniversary date, and make the Flexible vs refreshed call before that date. Everything else is timed loot with clear quest markers: 12/31/26 for new applicants who want the old structure available, 1/1/27 for hotel redemption cadence and new-card refresh, anniversary day for existing cardholders, and 1/15/27 for Daily Rewards.
