If holiday shopping is already on your list, Rakuten is running a short boost worth timing. Its promotion page says “Get 10% Cash Back on fashion and beauty.” When we checked Tuesday morning, the countdown pointed to an end late Thursday, Oct. 29. Rates we saw include Ulta Beauty, Clinique, The North Face, Swarovski and Kay Jewelers at 10% (each normally 2%), Bluemercury at 12% (was 2%), Ray-Ban and Sunglass Hut at up to 10% (was 4%), and Disney Store at 15% (was 2%). Rates are set store by store and can change, so check the store’s Rakuten page right before you buy. Each store has its own exclusions, and gift cards and unlisted coupon codes often don’t earn. If you get Rakuten payouts as Amex Membership Rewards or Bilt points, the bonus comes through as points too. To play it, sign in to Rakuten, click through from the store page, and pay with a card that earns well on that purchase.
