Bilt members with a Hyatt award already found, or who use Hyatt often enough to transfer only what they need

Bilt still transfers to World of Hyatt at 1:1. That ends on January 1, 2027, when Bilt’s own Hyatt page says the ratio becomes 4:3. If Hyatt is part of why you collect Bilt Points, you have a real deadline. The question is not “should I dump everything into Hyatt?” It is “do I have a stay I can book, and is 1:1 worth more than waiting for a Rent Day bonus on a partner I actually use?”

Every fact below was checked October 16, 2026 on Bilt’s transfer partners support article (updated September 23, 2026), Bilt’s World of Hyatt transfer page, and Chase’s Sapphire Preferred benefits page. New to Bilt? Start with our Bilt Rewards guide. For Rent Day timing, see Bilt Rent Day explained.

What is changing (and what is not)

Still true today (October 2026):

  • World of Hyatt is listed at 1:1 among Bilt’s hotel partners on the transfer partners support page (updated September 23, 2026, checked October 16, 2026).
  • That means 1,000 Bilt Points become 1,000 World of Hyatt points at the base ratio.

Beginning January 1, 2027:

  • Bilt’s Hyatt transfer page shows this editorial highlight, word for word: “The transfer ratio for World of Hyatt will change to 4:3 beginning January 1, 2027” (Bilt Hyatt transfer page, checked October 16, 2026).

What that math means (illustrative, not a Bilt quote):

Scenario Result
You need a 60,000-point Hyatt night 60,000 Bilt now at 1:1 · 80,000 Bilt after Jan 1 at 4:3
You hold 100,000 Bilt Points 100,000 Hyatt now · 75,000 Hyatt after Jan 1 at 4:3

After the change, you need more Bilt Points for the same Hyatt night, or you get fewer Hyatt points from the same Bilt balance. Neither is a reason to panic-transfer without a booking.

Airlines and other hotel partners on Bilt’s list are separate. This deadline is about Hyatt, not about every Bilt Point you own.

Transfer rules you need before you click

From Bilt’s transfer partners FAQ (checked October 16, 2026):

  • Transfers are final. Once they leave Bilt, they become World of Hyatt points under Hyatt’s terms and cannot be reversed.
  • Most transfers: allow up to 48 hours (Southwest is up to 72 hours; Hyatt is in the “most” group).
  • Increments of 1,000 points.
  • Minimums on the support page: 2,000 Bilt Points for Blue status, 1,000 for Silver, Gold, or Platinum.

Watch Out

Bilt’s Hyatt transfer UI (checked October 16, 2026) can show a 1,000-point Blue minimum even though the support article says 2,000 for Blue. Confirm the minimum shown in your own account before you rely on either number.

Bilt also recommends confirming hotel availability with the partner before you transfer, and considering a hold when the partner allows it. That advice matters more than usual with a ratio deadline on the calendar.

How Chase Preferred compares (same 4:3 already)

Chase Ultimate Rewards already transfer to World of Hyatt at 4:3 on the Sapphire Preferred: 1,000 Ultimate Rewards become 750 World of Hyatt points. Accounts opened before June 15, 2026 kept a 1:1 Hyatt transfer only through September 30, 2026. That grace window is closed. Source: Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits, checked October 16, 2026. Full card details are in our Chase Sapphire Preferred review.

So through December 31, 2026, Bilt is still the cleaner Hyatt transfer if your points are in Bilt. On January 1, 2027, Bilt’s Hyatt ratio matches the same 4:3 math Chase Preferred already uses. After that date, Hyatt alone is a weaker reason to prefer Bilt over Chase Preferred. Rent earning, Neighborhood partners, and the rest of Bilt’s transfer list can still tip the scale. We are not stating Sapphire Reserve’s current Hyatt ratio here; verify that on Chase’s own Reserve pages if you hold that card.

Decision framework: transfer, wait, or split

Use this in order. Skip steps that do not apply.

1. Transfer before Jan 1 only if award space is real

Search World of Hyatt for the nights you want. If the room is bookable (or holdable) at a points rate you accept, transfer only the amount you need, then book. Do not round up “for later” unless you already have a second stay lined up.

2. Do not dump points “just in case”

Transferred points cannot come back to Bilt. Points left in Bilt can still move to United, Southwest, Atmos, Hilton, Marriott, and every other partner on the current list, or sit for a Rent Day bonus. A blank Hyatt balance helps nobody.

3. Weigh the remaining Rent Days

There are still Rent Days on November 1 and December 1, 2026 before the Hyatt change. Transfer bonuses change by month and by status. World of Hyatt has not appeared as a Rent Day transfer bonus partner in the monthly terms covered in our Rent Day guide through October 2026, so do not plan your Hyatt strategy around a Hyatt bonus that may never show up. If November or December features a partner you will actually fly or stay with, waiting can still beat rushing every Bilt Point into Hyatt.

4. After Jan 1, 2027, re-rank Hyatt vs Chase

Once Bilt is also 4:3 to Hyatt, the Hyatt-only argument for choosing Bilt over Chase Preferred mostly disappears. Keep Bilt in the mix if you monetize rent or mortgage, use Neighborhood earning, or prefer Bilt’s airline set. Drop the idea that Bilt is “the Hyatt program” after the ratio change.

5. Split when it is honest

Example: transfer 60,000 Bilt for a booked Category night, leave the rest for Rent Day or another airline. That is usually better than moving 150,000 “because the deadline is coming.”

Tip

Put a calendar reminder for December 20–28, 2026, not January 1. Give yourself time to search award space, link accounts, and allow up to 48 hours for the transfer to post before New Year’s travel or award calendars get messy.

Who should move points before 2027

Strong yes (transfer what you need):

  • You already found Hyatt award space for 2026 or early 2027 at a rate that makes sense at 1:1.
  • You stay at Hyatt often enough that you will burn the points on real nights, not a fantasy itinerary.
  • You are booking a meal-included or high-cash-rate Hyatt where points stretch further (see our best all-inclusive resorts with points for examples across programs).

Probably wait (or transfer only a slice):

  • You have no Hyatt trip in mind and mainly chase airline awards.
  • You are Blue or Silver and a near-term Rent Day bonus on Hilton, Avios, or another partner you use would beat parking points in Hyatt with no booking.
  • Your Bilt balance is still posting from rent, Rakuten, or a card bonus and will not be available to transfer until after you need the room.

Clear no:

  • Transferring the whole balance with zero award search “so I don’t miss the deadline.”
  • Moving points you will need for a non-Hyatt redemption you already care about more.

Practical checklist

  1. Open World of Hyatt and search your dates at points rates.
  2. Confirm your Bilt status and the transfer minimum shown in-app.
  3. Link your World of Hyatt account in Bilt ahead of time (enrollment link is on Bilt’s Hyatt page).
  4. Transfer in 1,000-point increments for the stay only.
  5. Book (or hold, if Hyatt allows) as soon as points post.
  6. Leave leftover Bilt Points in Bilt unless you have a second Hyatt stay ready.
  7. Re-read November and December Rent Day terms before you move a large leftover balance.

FAQ

Is Bilt still 1:1 to Hyatt right now?

Yes, as of October 16, 2026. The transfer partners support article lists World of Hyatt at 1:1. The change to 4:3 is dated beginning January 1, 2027 on Bilt’s Hyatt transfer page.

How bad is 4:3 in plain numbers?

Illustrative math only: 100,000 Bilt → 100,000 Hyatt at 1:1 today, or 75,000 Hyatt at 4:3 after January 1, 2027. A 60,000-point Hyatt night costs 60,000 Bilt now and 80,000 Bilt at 4:3.

Should I transfer all my Bilt Points to Hyatt before January 1?

Only if you can use them on Hyatt stays you can actually book. Otherwise no. Transfers are final, and Bilt Points remain useful for many other partners.

Does Chase Preferred still beat Bilt to Hyatt?

Not while Bilt is 1:1. Chase Preferred is already 4:3 to World of Hyatt per Chase’s benefits page. After January 1, 2027, both programs use 4:3 to Hyatt at the base ratio; then rent earning and other partners matter more than Hyatt alone.

Can I reverse a Bilt transfer to Hyatt?

No. Bilt’s FAQ says once points are transferred, they cannot be reversed and follow the partner’s terms.

Bottom line

Bottom Line

Keep Bilt → Hyatt at 1:1 on your calendar through December 31, 2026. Transfer only when World of Hyatt shows space you will book. Do not empty your Bilt balance “just in case.” After January 1, 2027, Bilt and Chase Preferred share the same 4:3 Hyatt math, so prefer Bilt for rent and the broader partner mix, not for Hyatt exclusivity.

For the full partner list, cards, and status rules, read the Bilt Rewards guide. For whether to hold for a monthly bonus instead, read Bilt Rent Day explained. If Chase is your other pile of points, the Sapphire Preferred review covers the current 4:3 Hyatt transfer in context.
