Best for
Bilt members holding points for an airline or hotel they actually use
Rent Day is Bilt’s monthly promotion on the 1st of every month. If you collect Bilt Points, it is the day most worth putting on your calendar, because it is when Bilt has run its transfer bonuses: one day where moving points to a specific airline or hotel partner gets you extra miles or points, with the size of the bonus set by your Bilt status.
This guide explains what happens on Rent Day, how the transfer bonuses actually work (tiers, caps, short windows, Bilt Cash buy-ups), what past offers looked like, and how to decide whether to transfer now or wait. Every fact below comes from Bilt’s own pages, support articles, and monthly Rent Day terms, checked October 8, 2026. All past offers mentioned here have ended. Nothing here predicts what Bilt will offer next.
To keep the math concrete, I use one running example: a reader holding 100,000 Bilt Points. The numbers show what 100,000 points would have become under past offers. They are illustrations based on ended offers, not promises about future ones.

What Rent Day is
Bilt’s support article describes it this way: “Rent Day is a monthly rewards promotion that takes place on the 1st of every month, from 12:00 AM ET through 11:59 PM PT” (Bilt Card 2.0 Program Overview, updated September 18, 2026, checked October 8, 2026). Bilt’s “What is Bilt?” page adds that members “unlock exclusive rewards on the 1st of every month with Rent Day” (What is Bilt?).
That window is longer than it looks. 11:59 PM Pacific is 2:59 AM Eastern on the 2nd, so a Rent Day offer gives East Coast members about 27 hours.
Each month Bilt publishes a terms PDF at a predictable address, for example bilt.com/terms/rent-day-oct26 for October 2026. I read every monthly terms document from January 2025 through October 2026 for this guide. The November 2026 address (rent-day-nov26) returned “not found” when I checked on October 8, 2026, so next month’s offers were not public yet.
What typically happens on Rent Day
Based on the 2026 terms, a typical Rent Day has some mix of the following. The exact lineup changes every month.
1. A transfer bonus (most months)
Most months in 2026 included one bonus for transferring Bilt Points to a specific partner. The partner rotated: Accor, Japan Airlines, Wyndham, Avios, TAP, Hilton, Virgin, and Amtrak all appeared between February and October 2026. The details are in the table further down.
2. Double points for Bilt cardholders
Bilt’s October 2026 terms say the double points offer runs on the 1st of each month, “effective March 1, 2026 through January 1, 2027” (October 2026 Rent Day terms, checked October 8, 2026). It applies to Bilt Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium cards (issued by Column N.A.):
| Card | Rent Day earn (per $1, net purchases) |
|---|---|
| Bilt Blue | 2X on purchases outside Bilt Housing Payments |
| Bilt Obsidian | 6X on your chosen 3X category (dining or grocery), 4X on travel, 2X on everything else outside housing |
| Bilt Palladium | 4X on purchases outside Bilt Housing Payments |
The bonus is capped at 1,000 bonus points per month per Bilt Rewards account, “regardless of how much you purchase.” Housing payments and tax payments are excluded, along with third-party payment services and most mobile or digital wallets (Apple Pay is specifically allowed). The merchant has to submit the charge as made within the window, and bonus points can take up to 7 days to post. Double points don’t stack with Points Accelerator. Bilt applies whichever earns you more.
After January 1, 2027, the current double points terms end. Check the next terms before assuming the offer continues.
3. Other points-earning promos
Some months add short promos. Examples from 2026 terms, all ended:
- January 2026: an Amazon redemption bonus and a rent credit bonus (better value when redeeming points), at rates shown in each member’s account. January 2026 had no transfer bonus.
- May 2026: 500 bonus Bilt Points for members who linked Rakuten to Bilt during the Rent Day window (only if not already linked).
- July 2026: 10 Bilt Points per $1 on up to five paid fitness classes booked through Bilt.
4. Experiences, classes, and games
Rent Day also comes with lifestyle perks. From the October 2026 terms:
- Neighborhood Experiences: dining and comedy events. For October, reservations opened September 26 at 11:50 AM ET for Platinum and Gold members and at 12:00 PM ET for Silver and Blue.
- Free SoulCycle and Barry’s classes on the 1st, first come, first served, with a possible $30 no-show charge.
- Rent Free game show: an official Bilt contest where you answer three questions in the app or on the website. In October 2026, the top 10 players each won a rent payment of up to $2,500, up to nine more players could win rent depending on how the guest answered, the next 100 got 1,000 Bilt Points, and the next 500 got 100 Bilt Points. No purchase required.
These are fun, but they don’t change the value of your points. The rest of this guide focuses on transfers.
5. Bilt Cash
Bilt Cash is a separate currency from Bilt Points. Every member earns $50 in Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points earned toward status, and cardholders have more ways to earn it (Bilt Cash support, updated September 28, 2026). On Rent Day, it matters for one reason: you can use it to buy up your transfer bonus to the next tier (more below). Bilt Cash can’t be transferred to partners. It expires at year-end, and only up to $100 rolls over.
How Rent Day transfer bonuses work
Every 2026 transfer bonus followed the same basic rules. Read each month’s terms anyway, because the details changed from month to month.
The bonus depends on your status at the moment you transfer. The terms say “the Bilt Membership status listed in your Bilt account as of the time you elect to transfer” decides your bonus. They also warn that activity “may take 96 hours or more” to show in your account. If you’re about to reach a new tier, it may not appear in time for the 1st.
Bilt’s status tiers (How do you earn Bilt Elite Status?, checked October 8, 2026):
| Tier | Points earned in a calendar year | Or Fast Track spend (non-rent) |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | under 50,000 | under $10,000 |
| Silver | 50,000 | $10,000 |
| Gold | 125,000 | $25,000 |
| Platinum | 200,000 | $50,000 |
Some 2026 offers (July, September, and October) also listed a Platinum Plus rate above Platinum. Bilt’s status article only covers Blue through Platinum and doesn’t explain how Platinum Plus is earned, so I just show it where the terms do.
The window is short. Every 2026 transfer bonus ran from 12:00 AM ET on the 1st to 11:59 PM PT that night (some terms write the end as 2:59 AM ET on the 2nd, which is the same moment).
There are caps. Several offers capped how many points could earn the bonus: 100,000 Bilt Points per member for May (Avios), July and October (Hilton), and October (Amtrak); 150,000 for September (Virgin); and 100,000 bonus miles for June (TAP). Points above a cap transfer at the normal ratio.
Some offers allowed only one bonus transfer. The February, March, April, June, and July 2026 terms say the bonus “is good for a single transfer” during the offer period. May allowed a single transfer to each Avios program. If you split one move into several small transfers, only one might get the bonus.
Bilt Cash can buy the next tier’s bonus. Bilt says you can “use Bilt Cash to upgrade your Rent Day transfer bonus to the next status tier,” for example a Gold member going “from 75% to 100%.” The price varied by month: $75 (February), $135 (March), $125 (April), $150 (May), $200 (September), and $400 (October). The buy-up only applies to that offer and doesn’t change your actual status.
Transfers are final. Every offer repeats the standard rule: “Once you have transferred Bilt Points, they cannot be reversed.” Bilt’s transfer partners page recommends “confirming the flight or hotel availability with the loyalty partner prior to transferring points” (Bilt’s Transfer Partners, updated September 23, 2026).
Normal transfer rules still apply. Transfers go in 1,000-point increments, Blue members must move at least 2,000 points, and most transfers are immediate but Bilt says to allow up to 48 hours (72 for Southwest and for the October Amtrak offer).
Watch Out
Your Rent Day bonus is set by the status showing in your account when you hit transfer, not the status you think you’ve earned. If you’re close to a new tier, check your profile before the 1st.
Past Rent Day transfer bonuses (all ended)
This table covers every 2026 Rent Day through October. All of these offers have ended. They show how the program has worked, not what comes next. Source for each row: that month’s terms at bilt.com/terms/rent-day-[month]26, checked October 8, 2026.
| Rent Day (ended) | Partner and base ratio | Blue / Silver / Gold / Platinum bonus | Bilt Cash buy-up | Notable limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 1, 2026 | No transfer bonus (Amazon and rent credit redemption bonuses instead) | n/a | n/a | n/a |
| Feb 1, 2026 | Accor ALL, 3:2 | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% | $75 (Platinum to 125%) | Single transfer |
| Mar 1, 2026 | Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, 1:1 | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% | $135 (Platinum to 125%) | Single transfer |
| Apr 1, 2026 | Wyndham Rewards, 1:1 | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% | $125 (Platinum to 125%) | Single transfer |
| May 1, 2026 | Avios (British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia), 1:1 | 40% / 50% / 60% / 75% | $150 (Platinum to 100%) | 100,000 Bilt Points cap; one transfer per program |
| Jun 1, 2026 | TAP Miles&Go, 1:1 | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% | Yes (Platinum to 125%); price not stated in terms | 100,000 bonus miles cap; single transfer |
| Jul 1, 2026 | Hilton Honors, 1:1 | 75% / 100% / 150% / 175% (Platinum Plus 200%) | None listed | 100,000 Bilt Points cap; single transfer |
| Aug 1, 2026 | Accor status match, not a percentage bonus | Accor Silver or Gold status for a 5,000-point transfer; Platinum members could get Accor Platinum for 15,000 | n/a | Status request during the Rent Day window |
| Sep 1, 2026 | Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, 1:1 | 25% / 35% / 45% / 75% (Platinum Plus 100%) | $200 | 150,000 Bilt Points cap |
| Oct 1, 2026 | Hilton Honors, 1:1 (plus instant Hilton status) | 75% / 100% / 150% / 175% (Platinum Plus 200%) | $400 | 100,000 Bilt Points cap |
| Oct 1, 2026 | Amtrak Guest Rewards, 2:1 | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% (Platinum Plus 125%) | $400 | 100,000 Bilt Points cap |
Two patterns stand out. First, the partner changed nearly every month. Hilton (July and October) was the only percentage bonus to repeat in 2026, and Accor showed up twice in different forms (a bonus in February, a status match in August). Second, World of Hyatt does not appear in any Rent Day terms from January 2025 through October 2026. That matters for the Hyatt decision below.
What 100,000 Bilt Points would have become (illustrations, ended offers)
October 2026 Hilton (ended). 1 Hilton point per Bilt Point, plus the bonus. The full 100,000 fits under the 100,000-point cap:
| Status | Bonus | Hilton points from 100,000 Bilt Points |
|---|---|---|
| No bonus (normal 1:1) | 0% | 100,000 |
| Blue | 75% | 175,000 |
| Silver | 100% | 200,000 |
| Gold | 150% | 250,000 |
| Platinum | 175% | 275,000 |
| Platinum Plus | 200% | 300,000 |
September 2026 Virgin (ended). 1:1 plus the bonus, with a 150,000-point cap, so all 100,000 qualified:
| Status | Bonus | Virgin Points from 100,000 Bilt Points |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | 25% | 125,000 |
| Silver | 35% | 135,000 |
| Gold | 45% | 145,000 |
| Platinum | 75% | 175,000 |
| Platinum Plus | 100% | 200,000 |
October 2026 Amtrak (ended). The base ratio is 2 Bilt Points to 1 Amtrak point, so 100,000 Bilt Points normally becomes 50,000 Amtrak points. With the bonus: Blue 62,500, Silver 75,000, Gold 87,500, Platinum 100,000, Platinum Plus 112,500. That’s a good reminder to apply the bonus to the partner’s ratio, not to your Bilt balance.
How caps change the math. Suppose the same reader had 150,000 points and moved all of it to Hilton in October as a Gold member. Only the first 100,000 got the 150% bonus (250,000 Hilton points). The other 50,000 transferred at 1:1 (50,000 Hilton points), for 300,000 total, not 375,000.
Tip
A big bonus percentage doesn’t help if you never use that program. 250,000 Hilton points are only worth something if you’ll book Hilton stays with them. Start from the trip, then see whether this month’s partner can book it.
Is the Bilt Cash buy-up worth it?
Treat the buy-up as buying extra partner points with Bilt Cash. Using our 100,000-point reader at Gold, with past offers (both ended):
- September 2026 Virgin: Gold 45% to Platinum’s 75% for $200 of Bilt Cash adds 30,000 Virgin Points. That works out to about 0.67 cents of Bilt Cash per extra point.
- October 2026 Hilton: Gold 150% to Platinum’s 175% for $400 of Bilt Cash adds 25,000 Hilton points, or 1.6 cents of Bilt Cash per extra point.
The first is much cheaper per point than the second. Whether either is worth it depends on what you’d otherwise use the Bilt Cash for (it also covers dollar-for-dollar credits like Lyft and dining) and whether it would expire anyway, since only $100 rolls into the next year. If you’re moving only a few thousand points, a flat-price buy-up rarely pays.
The Hyatt question: transfer at 1:1 now or wait for a bonus?
This is the timing question most Bilt members have this fall.
- Today: World of Hyatt is 1:1. Bilt’s Hyatt transfer page showed 1,000 Bilt Points = 1,000 World of Hyatt points when checked October 8, 2026, and the transfer partners support article lists Hyatt at 1:1.
- From January 1, 2027: the same page says, “The transfer ratio for World of Hyatt will change to 4:3 beginning January 1, 2027” (Bilt Hyatt transfer page, notice present October 8, 2026).
For our 100,000-point reader:
| Scenario | Hyatt points from 100,000 Bilt Points |
|---|---|
| Transfer by December 31, 2026 at 1:1 | 100,000 |
| Transfer from January 1, 2027 at 4:3 | 75,000 |
| 4:3 plus a hypothetical 25% bonus | 93,750 |
| 4:3 plus a hypothetical 33.3% bonus | 100,000 (break-even with today) |
| 4:3 plus a hypothetical 50% bonus | 112,500 |
The bonus rows are math, not a forecast. After January 1, a Hyatt bonus would need to be more than 33.3% just to match transferring at 1:1 today. And based on Bilt’s own terms, Hyatt hasn’t been a Rent Day partner once from January 2025 through October 2026.
How I’d think about it:
- If you have a Hyatt stay in mind (or you use Hyatt regularly and are sure you’ll redeem), transferring before December 31, 2026 locks in 1:1. Waiting means betting on a Hyatt bonus that has never appeared in 22 months of terms, and it would need to be over 33% just to break even.
- If you don’t have Hyatt plans, don’t move points “just to beat the deadline.” Transfers can’t be reversed, and points sitting in Bilt can still go to any partner, including whatever Rent Day features.
- There are two Rent Days left before the change, November 1 and December 1, 2026. Neither had public terms on October 8. If one of them includes Hyatt, run the numbers again, but don’t plan around it.
If you’re earning new Bilt Points that won’t arrive until 2027 (for example, a Rakuten payout like the one in our BofA Premium Rewards + Rakuten stack), plan on 4:3 for Hyatt. For those points, waiting for a Rent Day bonus on a partner you’ll use is a reasonable plan.
We also published a dedicated walkthrough: Should You Transfer Bilt Points to Hyatt Before Jan 1, 2027?.
Bottom Line
For Hyatt specifically, 1:1 before January 1, 2027 beats any bonus under 33.3% after it, and Bilt has never run a Hyatt Rent Day bonus in the terms I could find. If you’ll use Hyatt, transfer what you need by December 31. For everything else, holding points for a Rent Day bonus on a partner you’ll use is usually the better move.
When a transfer bonus is worth waiting for
Holding points for Rent Day makes sense when:
- You don’t need the points yet. If the trip is months away, there’s little cost to waiting a few Rent Days.
- You use programs Bilt has featured. Hilton, Avios, Accor, Virgin, and others appeared in 2026. If you only redeem with one partner that never shows up, waiting may not help.
- Your status earns a strong bonus. In 2026, Blue members usually got 25% (40% for Avios, 75% for Hilton), while Gold usually got 75% (45% for Virgin, 60% for Avios, 150% for Hilton).
Transfer now, at the normal ratio, when:
- You found award space you want. Award seats and rooms disappear. A 50% bonus next month doesn’t help if the seat is gone.
- A ratio is about to get worse, as with Hyatt on January 1, 2027.
- You’d be guessing. Bilt doesn’t announce future partners, so waiting for a specific one is a bet.
How to prepare for the 1st
- Keep a balance. A bonus only helps if your points are already in Bilt. Points still pending from a portal or card don’t count.
- Link loyalty accounts ahead of time. Each offer requires you to be enrolled in the partner program and to link it in Bilt. Do it before the 1st so a login or name mismatch doesn’t cost you the window.
- Know your status. In the app, tap your profile icon, then Your Status. Remember that new activity can take 96 hours or more to show.
- Check your Bilt Cash balance if you might use a buy-up, and run the cost-per-extra-point math first.
- Set a reminder for the 1st, and remember the window ends at 11:59 PM Pacific.
- Check the app and the terms. Bilt’s redemption FAQ says to “check the Bilt app regularly for special Rent Day transfer bonuses” (Where can I redeem my Bilt Points?, checked October 8, 2026). Some promos for October started September 25 and 26, so look in the last week of the month too.
- Find the award first, then transfer in one go if the terms say “single transfer.”
Checklist:
Checklist
0/0
- Bilt Points balance posted (not pending)
- Partner loyalty accounts created and linked in Bilt
- Current Bilt status checked in the app
- Bilt Cash balance checked (only if a buy-up might make sense)
- Calendar reminder for the 1st (ends 11:59 PM PT)
- This month’s terms read: partner, ratio, cap, single-transfer rule
- Award space confirmed before transferring
Tick items as you go. Saved in this browser only.
Mistakes to avoid
- Transferring without a booking in mind. Bonuses make points cheaper, not refundable.
- Splitting a transfer when the terms say “single transfer.” You may only get the bonus once.
- Ignoring the cap. Above 100,000 (or 150,000 for Virgin in September), extra points moved at the normal ratio.
- Applying the bonus to the wrong number. For Amtrak (2:1) or Accor (3:2), the bonus applies after the base ratio.
- Counting on status that hasn’t posted yet. The bonus uses the status showing in your account at the moment you transfer.
- Paying for a buy-up that doesn’t pay off. Divide the Bilt Cash price by the extra points you’d get.
- Waiting for a Hyatt bonus that may never come. After January 1, 2027, a Hyatt bonus would need to beat 33.3% just to match 1:1 today.
- Missing the window by time zone. It starts at midnight Eastern and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific.
- Expecting double points on rent. Housing payments are excluded, and the bonus is capped at 1,000 points a month.
- Assuming next month looks like this month. The partner, percentages, caps, and buy-up price changed almost every month in 2026.
FAQ
When is Bilt Rent Day?
The 1st of every month, from 12:00 AM ET through 11:59 PM PT, per Bilt’s Card 2.0 Program Overview (checked October 8, 2026).
Do I need a Bilt card for Rent Day?
Not for transfer bonuses: the 2026 transfer offers were open to Bilt members by status tier, including Blue. Double points on purchases are only for Bilt Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium cardholders.
How big are Rent Day transfer bonuses?
In 2026 (all ended), from 25% for Blue on several offers to 200% for Platinum Plus on Hilton in July and October. Gold usually got 75%, but it ranged from 45% (Virgin) to 150% (Hilton). Future offers may be bigger, smaller, or missing.
Can I see next month’s offer in advance?
Not reliably. The terms for the month go up at bilt.com/terms/rent-day-[month][yy], and some promos start a few days before the 1st. The November 2026 terms were not up when I checked on October 8, 2026.
Has Bilt ever offered a Hyatt transfer bonus on Rent Day?
Not in any monthly Rent Day terms from January 2025 through October 2026. With Hyatt moving to 4:3 on January 1, 2027, don’t count on one.
Does a Bilt Cash buy-up change my status?
No. The terms say the temporary upgrade applies only to that offer and doesn’t change your Bilt status for anything else.
Can I reverse a transfer?
No. Once Bilt Points are transferred, they become the partner’s points and can’t be moved back.
