American is giving 15,000 bonus miles to businesses that join AAdvantage Business with promo code GET15K by Oct. 31 (11:59 p.m. CT). Joining is free. You need a government-issued tax ID for the business and you have to be the person who runs its travel. Businesses already in the program don’t qualify. The miles land in the company account six to eight weeks after the promo ends. Here’s the catch: a business normally can’t use program miles until it has five active travelers and $5,000 in American flights in a calendar year. American waives that rule for holders of the Citi / AAdvantage Business card, which pays 65,000 bonus miles after $4,000 in purchases in the first four months. Its $99 annual fee is waived the first year. Citi opens a business account for you when you’re approved if you don’t already have one, so register with the code first and then apply. Done in that order, it’s up to 80,000 miles. Citi won’t pay the card bonus if you’ve earned it in the past 48 months.
