Best for

finding which of your points can reach the airline or hotel you want

Every flexible points program has its own list of airline and hotel partners, and the ratios are not all 1:1. This chart puts the five big US transferable currencies side by side so you can see, in one place, which bank points reach a program and how many partner points you get back.

Every ratio below was checked October 23, 2026 on the issuer’s own pages: Chase’s transfer guide and Sapphire Preferred benefits page, the Amex Membership Rewards transfer page, Capital One’s transfer partner guide, Citi’s ThankYou points transfer page, and Bilt’s transfer partners article and Hyatt transfer page. If a ratio could not be confirmed on an official page, it is not in the chart.

How to read the chart

Ratios read bank points : partner points. So 1:1 means 1,000 bank points become 1,000 partner points. 5:4 means 1,000 become 800. 1:2 means 1,000 become 2,000. A dot means that bank does not list the program as a partner.

Want to run the numbers on a specific award? Plug the ratio into our points value calculator, which converts partner prices back into bank points and shows the cents per point you would get.

Ratios that depend on your card

  • Citi: the ratios in the chart are for Citi Strata Elite, Strata Premier, and Prestige cardmembers. Citi’s own partner pages show lower ratios (for example 1,000 points to 700 airline miles) for the Citi Strata, Double Cash, Custom Cash, and ThankYou Preferred cards.
  • Chase: only the Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, and Ink Business Preferred can transfer points to partners, per Chase. Points earned on other Chase cards have to be combined into one of those accounts first.
  • Bilt: Blue status members have a 2,000-point minimum transfer; Silver, Gold, and Platinum members have a 1,000-point minimum. All transfers go in 1,000-point increments.
  • Capital One: transfers need at least 1,000 miles, and the name on your Capital One account has to match your loyalty account.

Where only one bank gets you in

These are the partners that show up for just one of the five programs in the chart, which makes them the usual tie-breakers when you are deciding which points to collect:

  • Amex only: Delta SkyMiles, ANA Mileage Club
  • Citi only: American Airlines AAdvantage, Thai Royal Orchid Plus
  • Capital One only: Finnair Plus
  • Bilt only: Atmos Rewards (Alaska and Hawaiian), Amtrak Guest Rewards
  • Chase and Bilt only: United MileagePlus, Southwest Rapid Rewards, IHG One Rewards, World of Hyatt

The flip side: Air France-KLM Flying Blue and JetBlue TrueBlue are reachable from all five, and Aeroplan, Avios (British Airways, Iberia, Qatar), Avianca LifeMiles, Cathay, Emirates, Singapore, and Wyndham are reachable from four. If you are only starting out, a currency that reaches those programs gives you the most choice later. Our best travel credit cards guide covers which cards earn each currency.

Before you transfer: a short checklist

  1. Find the award first and confirm it is bookable with partner points. Transfers are final at Chase, Capital One, and Bilt, per each program.
  2. Compare the cash price with the points price using the calculator. Count the taxes and fees on the award.
  3. Check whether a transfer bonus is running. Bonuses come and go; Bilt’s Rent Day often has them (see Bilt Rent Day explained).
  4. Make sure the names match exactly on both accounts.
  5. Transfer only what you need, rounded up to the next 1,000.

Watch Out

Ratios and partners change, sometimes with little notice. This page shows what each issuer published on October 23, 2026. Check the issuer’s transfer page again before you move points, because a transfer cannot be undone.
